Restless in Berlin

Thanks to our Berliner friend Christa, our program in the German capital was an intensive three-day marathon. We got warned several times before our arrival: "Boys and girls, bring good walking shoes!" ~8-O

Christa is a proud Berliner by heart and feels deeply connected to all that excites, worries, unites, or divides the city. She wanted to show us the city from A to Z, to soak its rich atmosphere and history, to feel it exactly as it is - the real Berlin. And because she is a tireless spirit, this had to happen in no time, preferably on foot.

The following conversation happened dozen times every day:

"Now, getting to the next place of interest takes 15min. by train or 15min. on foot. We can still walk, right???" - says Christa with eagerly expecting eyes, while I try to figure out how we could possibly walk as fast as the train moves!

Our young generation somehow managed to keep up to this pace, but also thank God that Christa had enough mercy and didn't torture us too much so we could get enough rest.

With such an alert and tireless citizen as Christa I believe that the future of Belin is in sure hands, despite the present difficulties inherited from the long years of the wall. Until next time in Berlin!
