Beer, wurst and shopping mania in DüsseldorfArriving in Holland where we stayed with Didi and Rado's family we immediately made an ambitious plan to savour all places of interest in the area, which included a fair chunk of neighbouring Germany as well. And so, one busy Saturday we arrived in Düsseldorf, the capital of the German province North Rhine-Westphalia. "Kö" or Königsallee is The street to go shopping in Düsseldorf. All famous jewellery shops, designer boutiques and galleries had outlets here: Cartier, Aigner, Lacoste, Eickhoff, Jil Sander, Benetton, Gucci, Esprit, Laurel, Armani, Chanel, Escada, Hugo Boss, Joop, Kookan, Prada and many others. Some of the fashion articles we saw on sale made us wonder whether selling mine and Rado's car would fit the price :-) But before even thinking about shopping we had to do the following ritual as soon as we set foot in Germany: First, to drink at least one mug of solid German beer! Then, to wipe out at least one solid German wurst! |
Women can never get exhausted when it comes to shopping! |
